A First!

Welcome to Benthel Asia School of Technology - Cordova Campus's online version of its first ever school newsletter! (in the making!)

We have so much to share that we decided to venture into this exciting endeavor. We are looking into putting up pictures of school events, articles, literary works and all that we can think of that is creative. We are even planning to include outputs of learners - projects they make in class.  Both learners and facilitators are determined to make this union of brilliant minds an absolute success.

About Our School
BAST-C opened in 2008. It is nestled in a 60-hectare mango orchard. Located about 13 kilometers from Lapu-Lapu City, our school is an ideal place for conducive learning. Imagine lush green mango trees, standard-size classrooms occupied by less than 20 learners in each class, a big library with varied titles, ample space for sports activities such as volleyball, football, basketball and badminton and you get the whole picture. It is in this setting that the staff came up with the name THE G.L.O.W. for the newsletter.

What's in a Name?
G.L.O.W. stands for Green Learners of Outstanding Wit. Here in BAST-C, we take care of our environment. A solid example is throwing candy wrappers and plastics in designated trash cans. We give high importance in making our surroundings clean. Thus, the word Green sprang out from this habit of being environment-friendly. How about Outstanding? Our school's population is composed mostly of outstanding students who come from public schools. They are given equal opportunity to enjoy good education through scholarship programs. And of course, when there's intellect it's natural to have wit as well. In a nutshell, The G.L.O.W. sums up the breed of learners that our school has.

First Release
As early as May this year, Ms. Debbie and Ms. Rose, with the constant guidance of  Ms. Au-Au, have already set the last week of September as the date of the first release of the newsletter. We are going to make use of the resources that are available and we all look forward to making this project fun, educational, inspiring and challenging to everyone.
